With a broad array of experience, an educator and a passion for our community, Wendy Youngblood is fully committed to delivering the best possible education for children in Brookfield.
Her 21+ years of experience teaching both middle and high school in Connecticut and four years teaching overseas provide firsthand experience and perspective that make her uniquely qualified for this role. She is a passionate educator and advocate for others in helping them seek their full potential and expand their horizons.
She holds a Doctorate in Instructional Leadership from Western Connecticut State University with dissertation on teacher thriving, motivation, and attrition. In addition, she holds an M.A. in History from Western Connecticut State University and a B.A.in American Studies and French from Wellesley College. She was a Fulbright-Hays Scholar (2009, 2013) and a TEDx community leader and TEDMED Research Scholar.
In addition to her experience as an educator and professional credentials, she is an active volunteer in the community as a coach of Brookfield youth soccer, a member of town Library Board and as a consultant for Library’s Community Conversations series.
Wendy and her husband, Chris Casey, have been residents of Brookfield for more than 23 years. Her daughters, Liv and Ruby Casey have attended Brookfield schools.
